Art Therapy
In art, there are no wrong answers
Art therapy may differ from what we associate with traditional arts based practices since it can be utilized as a tool to further explore unconscious thoughts and emotions.
It isn't necessary to have a background in art making, just the desire to explore your psyche. In our work together we will learn from the process of creating and from the artwork itself.
Together we will utilize line, symbol, shape, color and texture to further explore personal metaphor, encouraging introspection and healing. Please reach out if you have any questions about art therapy or how I may support you on your healing journey!
Art therapy and trauma
Art therapy is a helpful modality to explore trauma, shame and fear. Art nurtures exploration without language through metaphor allowing us to “zoom out” and explore with safety and intention.
“My artwork looks like a kid made it”
Perfect!
Children are the most creative; To explore without inhibition or fear of judgment… What a dream.
Do I need anything?
No special materials are necessary! Art making can occur both in and out of our session. All that is required is a quiet, private place to meet for our session and a device to meet for a telehealth video call.
In art therapy, both the process of creating and the artwork itself is explored. All backgrounds are welcome! *

Counseling
Softness does not equate weakness, rather just the opposite
There are no “bad emotions”; Our psyche, unconscious and shadow may appear with rigidity when we are sensing or experiencing something profound. Through gentle curiosity and warmth we will turn inwards and dive deeper while creating space to redefine painful emotions such as internalization and shame.
